The Yucca Valley Sessions - Little Ashes - Cover art

Little Ashes is an interdisciplinary artist based in Venice, California, working fluidly between music and visual art. For the 2025 album The Yucca Valley Sessions, we were invited to process and develop the artwork and create the social media content visuals, translating the spirit of the record into a cohesive visual language across formats.

The album itself emerged from an unplanned journey. Drawn by a deep, enduring connection to the California desert, Little Ashes traveled to Yucca Valley with a car full of recording equipment, initially intending to write a handful of pieces. What followed was something less deliberate and more intuitive - shaped by the rhythm of the desert, from sunrise to sunset.

Across this period, eleven tracks took form organically. Written, recorded, produced, and mixed entirely on-site, the album stands as a testament to creative freedom and the power of environment. It reflects a moment where process overtook intention, and where the right place at the right time became more influential than any predefined plan.

Our role extended beyond the album artwork into a broader visual identity, including social media content, guided by the same ethos - embracing rawness, atmosphere, and the expansive, almost timeless quality of the desert landscape that defines the record.
